The Children of Hope

8 Nov

We were the children

who roamed the

bomb sites

and listened

to stories of

our parents’

war.

We were the children of

and mend so we’ll

somehow forget.

The children of

shell-shocked

and war-torn;

of rations,

and heartache;

of rebuild and

make-do;

of hope.
